There is more to a person than what is visible on the outside. Although it is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, dreams are even more key when attempting to find out who someone really is. The first someone you should be trying to connect with is yourself. Examine your dreams. Who are you? Do not go looking at what you dreamt about last night. Think about who you want to be, and where you wish to travel in life. What you find could change everything, or it could push you on your way toward finding your calling. I have searched and I have found my dreams. I do not know what career I want to pursue, but I know I want to be a leader. I want to be a true leader who serves others. I do not want to be a leader who doesn’t know what it is like to serve. I want to join my coworkers in the things I hope to lead. I also want to be kind, giving, and compassionate. If I am cold-hearted and cut off from the world, I will not be able to change it. I want to leave my mark. I do not wish to be famous, but I want to help others who are in need.

My sights are set high. In order to reach where I look, I must be cognizant, involved, and prepared. Every successful journey has a start. IN order to follow my dreams, I have to start off knowing where I will step foot. One misstep, and I could ruin what I ever hoped to be before I earned a chance. I must be cognizant so I know where I am aiming. Even the vaguest idea is better than nothing at all. Even though I do not know what job I will take, I know who I want to be. This will make all of the difference. If I am not involved, I will never be able to find a path to climb. By being involved, i can get ahead in life. Finally, I want to be prepared. In order to be prepared, I must have the education to know what to do and when to do it. Every day I strive to do the best in school that I can possibly do. I do not take shortcuts, but I do not follow the beaten path. I create my own. I work hard, I am involved with others and I find ways to serve.

The path I am daring to travel is a steep upwards climb, and the finish is unattainable without a relationship with The Lord. A relationship with God is essential because being in touch with the one who controls my life is amazing. He steers me up the path that He wants me to travel. Even if I am afraid I will fall, God will support me. Deuteronomy 31:6 says this, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of them, for The Lord your God goes with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you.” By letting God lead my life, I only need to worry about the next step; God is making the other ones possible in my future.

I do not know when I will achieve my goal. None of us do. However, I am dedicated, I will never rest until I do. When I have truly attained my goal, I will share it with others. Having learned so many things by then, I will want to share my victory with others and give them a hand. They should know that they are not alone. By reaching out, the kindness will spread, and I will know that I will have succeeded. I will have reached my goal. I will have found myself in the chaos called life. When you embark on finding your true self, you will greatly enjoy the journey of life. Have you found yourself yet?
